You are right! The motors presented a challenge. There is one approach that
could be taken, that is to build the motor for the head pivot, inside the head.
Thereby collapsing the size of the neck. The trade off is that the head would
have been bigger.
The Blue Quad and even Jama used this approach. The motors that drive their head
pan left(s)/right(s) are built within the rear cavity of the head.
Because of the Ultrasonic sensor, this was the compromise.

Agreed. Glad I got the NXT in there though!
:)
The Red Quad works really well with the NXT and sensors.

Indeed. I am trying to develop a series of these Quads until I find the best
solutions to the challenges presented by this type of design.
I will ultimately end up with a Quad robot (Black Technic) based on Jama's
Technology that will contain the best of the lessons learned by these trials.

| Hello Eric, I'm not sure about this creation. I've two feelings which are very different. The first is on how you incorporated the NXT-technology into this Mecha. I'm absolutely sure that static pictures can't transport the dynamic this creation (...) (18 years ago, 4-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
