Hello Eric,
Im not sure about this creation. Ive two feelings which are very different.
The first is on how you incorporated the NXT-technology into this Mecha. Im
absolutely sure that static pictures cant transport the dynamic this
creation
shows in real life. Im also fascinated of the way you incorporated gears,
which are strong enough to hold all the weight added by the NXT-components.
The second one is on the overall look. The motors are disturbing the shape.
They are really big. All in all the proportions are not as good as usually in
your creations.
So I count Red Quad as a one experimental step on your way to a well
proportioned bigger creation which might incorporate even more dynamic
capabilities. And I think this is the goal youre heading for...

| (...) You are right! The motors presented a challenge. There is one approach that could be taken, that is to build the motor for the head pivot, inside the head. Thereby collapsing the size of the neck. The trade off is that the head would have been (...) (18 years ago, 5-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.mecha)
