  Big Blue Gundam

I just posted pictures of my Gundam mech. Find it at (URL) special thanks to Jeremy Sproat, Pat Justinson, Mark Sandlin, Mladen Pejic, and of couse Pallas Works. Bryce McGlone (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

WOW! ... WOW! ... WOW! ... Mmm... big shoulders... Yummy head... You rule Bryce! That thing is amazing!!! Excellent job on those, damn huge shoulders and legs!!! Wow, and the head, jeez, your use of those Aquazone Harpoon Guns is just awesome! And (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) <snip> (...) Yeah, the harpoon guns are nice, I hadn't thought of using those. I like the way you used two Throwbots joints at the hip. It seems to work pretty well... is it relatively stable? Stands up ok? How tall is it? Those sure are some (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) Thank you. I am blushing. BTW I think both Mark's and my mech are already about 2 feet. Check the picture with the minifig for comparison. And lastly I will always go to your site. Bryce McGlone (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) Thanks. (...) It's actually 3 at the hip and 2 at the shoulder. (...) Yes. I wouldn't make one that wasn't. (...) Of course. And with plenty of turn out. The knees have only two "locked" positions though because of the weight. (...) 22"-24"? (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

Hey Mark, Your "Colossus" is 23 inchs tall, wow, now I'm even more impressed. Anyways I can't really judge height in the Imperial system well, I grew up using the Metric system. (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) Oh.... AWESOME! su-veet! OOO...OOO OOO...OOOH! Um. How did you make those hip joints????!!!!!!!! --Me @ (URL) (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

Yeah, so has most of the world... metric is so much easier to figure out. You're not sitting there having to divide Feet by 12, or divide Inches by 8, etc. But imagine the stink it would make if they tried to implement metric in the US. ^_^ ~M (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) but this one rocks. Your use of slopes and wing pieces are clever -- I'm grokking the barb-shape on the wing for example, something I'd usually try to hide but you've used to full potential. Also, the hands are great -- harking back to Karim's (...) (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) Jeez! These mecha are getting so good poor little Chicken Walker can't compete! That is tite! I like how you made the sphere thing on the stomach. It really makes more like a Gundam. The head is also Gundam-ish (if there is such word). What's (...) (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) Like Sproat, I don't "get" Gundam either - but I know a great model when I see one. Excellent job all around. And I love the head, it really seems to have character - almost seems something is actually behind those eyes looking out. My only (...)   Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) Yeah. Pretty smart way of using diver guns as pointy antenna on the head. Someone with Lugnet membership should vote it to the spotlight. (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) They tried in the 70s/early 80s -- it was indeed a big stink. Most of the problem was that they were obsessed with teaching conversion factors imperial <-> metric -- much harder to remember than even the weird imperial system measurements. (...)   Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) Thank you for the praise. What's to get about Gundam? Big robots, big guns, boom boom, bang bang... About the ankle, it just moves back and forth. The turn out is provided by the hip joint (ball and socket). So I guess you could say the ankle (...) (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) Thanks, I tried to give it some personality. (...) Good point. However in this case "radar view" = Bryce learning Photoshop. I just though it looked kind of creepy. Bryce McGlone (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) I am very flattered, but I was thinking that all the attention and praise is odd. Let me explain...I usually lurk and check out all the models in space and mech. I admire all of you guys. I get so pumped up by you guys (and sometimes jealous, (...) (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Big Blue Gundam

(...) Heh -- just attach a "me-too from Jeremy" to Mladen's post: (URL) don't dislike Gundam; I just find myself liking perhaps 10% of what Gundam I see... Cheers, - jsproat (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)
