Hi all, Just a little fig-scale (URL) Tachikoma> tank mecha I whipped up tonight. (2 URLs) Side > (URL) If anyone can help with head smoothing I would be most gracious. Tim (18 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !

that's very pretty. (...) do you mean grateful? anyway, I suggest a comb. oh, the comedy... but seriously, I don't know Ghost in the Shell - which part is the head?! What about the little 1x1x2/3 slopes? mo. (18 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Definitely gracious. You will attain divine blessing from me. (...) Well if you look at the picture I link to in the original post (oh yes, the comb comment has earned some sarcasm ;) ) you will see that the top of the heard is rather round. (...)         Re: Tachikoma tank mecha - Ghost in the Shell —Jude Beaudin
(...) Looks pretty faithful. Can a fig fit inside? Jude (18 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Tachikoma tank mecha - Ghost in the Shell —Mark Neumann
Looks good Tim, The build reminds me a lot of Jon's bots. Of course wandering down the street can remind me of Jon's bots so.... Sorry, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to Ldraw stuff. My only suggestion is to build it out of brick. That aught to (...) (18 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Tachikoma tank mecha - Ghost in the Shell —Timothy Gould
(...) That's 'cause I stole his leg joints ;) (and forgot to credit them so thanks Jon, it wasn't a direct steal which was why I forgot... sorry) (...) I'm afraid that probably won't help but... thanks :P (...) I'm trying to dabble a bit more. Now (...) (18 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Tachikoma tank mecha - Ghost in the Shell —Matthew Jeffery
(...) If you'd like, I can send you a scan or twenty of my Ghost In the shell manga which shows these mechs in very good detail (and plotting a rebellion to boot!) Give me a buzz on my email @gmail.com if you're interested. Your mech is pretty (...) (18 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Tachikoma tank mecha - Ghost in the Shell —Timothy Gould
(...) Not sure how much more detail I could fit on it but expect an email from me. (...) The back is minifig scale rather than person scale. As such it is a little deeper than the real thing because minifigs are a little deeper than people (even (...) (18 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Tachikoma tank mecha - Ghost in the Shell —Anthony Sava
(...) That looks really great! I've fallen out of watching the show, but mainly because I don't stay up so late anymore when it's on. My only suggestion for the head is to add another 4x4 blue wheel (the kind with the 4 technic holes around the (...) (18 years ago, 18-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Tachikoma tank mecha - Ghost in the Shell —Timothy Gould
(...) Thanks Anthony, Amusingly enough the original design was exactly as you described (studs out version) but it looked a bit bug-eyed so I moved the eyes on top. Thanks anyway. Tim (18 years ago, 18-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Tachikoma tank mecha - Ghost in the Shell —Anthony Sava
(...) Ok, one more idea and then I'll leave you alone. What if you removed the parts above the 4x4 round brick you have there now, and instead attached three of these to it, lined up above where the technic holes of the 4x4 round brick. (URL) Then, (...)         Re: Tachikoma tank mecha - Ghost in the Shell —Timothy Gould
(...) Please keep them coming. I'm stumped. --SNIP-- (...) I tried it and it would look great except that the parts can't rotate enough :( They end up about 10 degrees from vertical. A real shame since if it could rotate more it would be great. (...) (18 years ago, 19-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
