WOW! Without a doubt this is one of the best mecha I have ever seen, Mark.
Simply fantastic! The legs are IMO the best, best Gundam legs I have ever,
ever
seen.

Gosh, thanks Mladen. Really, I just combined the look of two of my favorite
Gundams: Tallgeese and DoubleX. I was trying to capture the knee-look of
Tallgeese, but I wasn't quite able to do it because I don't have enough
white plates. :^/ I like how Tallgeese has those "bucket boot" type of
things on his legs.

Your use of parts is extraordinary. The weapons are beautiful as well,
and I love the way you hid the missiles, otherwise it wouldn't look as cool as
it does.

One thing I have always loved is li'l panels that open up with missiles or
guns or mecha guts. I always try to make something that opens.

I also love the chain-gun, and the ammo "belt", WOW!

:^) I know Karim  just made one like this, but I've been itchin' to do one
ever since I saw the Heavy Arms ver. Ka on HobbyLink Japan.

Too bad I wasn't able to make it as proportionately large as Heavyarms'.Of
course, then it would probably have just made the mecha fall over. :^) I had
a hard enough time getting it to stand as it is.

The opening  chest with all those computers, mmm... And the head, the head,
wow... Don't even get me started on the back and the thrusters, simply
stunning...

Yeah, while I was building it I decided that something this big would
probably need to have some big exhaust ports for the large amounts of power
needed to drive it.

I still can't believe that you got the colour sceme so perfect, and beautiful!

Aw, shucks. It's a pretty common color scheme in Gundam to have the legs and
arms be mostly white with the torso and shoulders in a darker color. I was
just copying that style.

Even though I like building smaller, and IMHO slightly difficult more, I can
imagine that this must have been, *quite* difficult to plan out and build. I
now only begin to think how insignificantly easy, smaller mecha are to build,
than *huge* behemoths that you build.

I think there are inherent difficulties in either method of building. With
larger mecha, you have to be very economical with your use of parts,
especially if you have limited supply. I almost exhausted my white plates in
building this one.

With smaller mecha, you have to really concentrate on the most appropriate
use of parts to convey your look. It's really easy to make something look
cluttered if you gob too much stuff on it, so I think it can be just as
difficult to make a small mecha look good.

In either case, I find that it makes things easier if I just build the basic
shape first and then go back to add the cosmetic details like vents and
tiles. I have to plan the opening panels ahead of time, of course, but if I
wait to add the fine details later on, it's easier to get a feel for what
looks balanced.

Again, to sum it up, WOW!

^_^  Thanks!

~Mark

Well an awesome model deserves an awesome reponse, IMHO! ;-) When I said nice colour sceme, I meant it was excellent how you followed the real Gundam colour sceme. Plus, I'm amazed when anyone makes something out of so much white, since I could (...) (24 years ago, 26-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
