  Re: IRON MECHA

(...) The trick won't be building but getting my camera back from repairs in time to photograph the bugger. Anyways, I'll toss in my two bricks. James (who wonders if he'll get LEGO at christmas again!) (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: IRON MECHA

I am throwing this quick post in. I was contacted by another of our magnificent builders, Tuomas "TheQ" Kukkamaa. He wishes to join in the fun and is having difficulties with Lugnet. Will the other competitors tremble in fear or will they stand up (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Ranger

(...) Very cool Marco! The yellow could be toned down in places, but otherwise the colour scheme is alright. Perhaps you could substitute the yellow for a third colour in some places. Maybe a dark grey, or even a white. I dunno... I'm just amazed (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Ranger

(...) It looks a bit more military with the harder angles and such. Reminds me of Colin or Keppler back in the day. (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Worm Gear Problem

(...) Hi Eric, I actually intended that the inherent backlash in the z16s was exploited to turn them in a little after the positioning. You could replace my z16s with two z24s and a z8, making one of the z24s a clutch gear so you could turn them (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.technic)

  Re: IRON MECHA

(...) This would be preferable for everyone, I am sure. More pictures and more detail equals a much better version of the model. Please toss us as many pics as you are able, Mark. -Dave (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Worm Gear Problem

Hey Danny, thats interesting. You may be on to something. I'm wondering, when a corrective tension is added (turning the opposing gear) the center of the axle will twist. Also, because the two drives are linked with z16's, when you turn one, the (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Worm Gear Problem

(...) I've done a similar solution however: I put 2 worm gears on 1 40t gear. One on top and one on the bottom. My intent was to counter the slipping that happens under severe loads. Though it's a pain to turn (you have to turn 2 axles in opposite (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Ranger

Oh man! I really like this design! That cockpit is slick. The leg design with the stud connections is very cool, small but very nice. The whole thing is so cool. Wow, great job! How long did you say it took to build? Must have been satisfying to (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Worm Gear Problem

Hi Brayton, While erics reply is pretty comprehensive, have you posted to .technic to see what they have there? Warning - I am about to databurst again... I can see what eric says about the counter system - and I wander if if could be simply (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Ranger

(...) It is small, but also very functional. The design speaks of utility. I suppose the simple colour scheme also adds to the utilitarian feel of it. I find I think of a wasp more than a ranger - perhaps "stinger" would haev been a good name for (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Worm Gear Problem

Thanks a lot Eric. That'll do just fine. -Brayton (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Mech-off

  Re: IRON MECHA

(...) Sounds good. Count me in. (...) Can you provide at least 2 graphics, i.e. front and back? (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Mech-off

Quit bickering already and build something the lot of you - before I come over there and bang your 'eads together... Sheesh... Danny (...) (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.people)

  I'm in

Count me in. I'm already working on my yearly Mecha but I would like to participate in a good cause. Thanks Mark. -Brian (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: IRON MECHA

(...) -snipped- (...) Now THAT'S what I've been waiting to read. Mauy gawd! Did I just post in mecha??? Adr. (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MAD-CM-01 - First humanoid mecha

(...) Thanks. (...) I think it comes from the fact that this mecha kinda of grew, and so the size increased a few times. I did make the torso wider, although I really didnt consider making it thicker. (...) You know - I couldnt quite get the head to (...) (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MAD-CM-01 - First humanoid mecha

(...) Hi Jon, Thanks for that, I may have a look. I didnt realise there was actually the term "kit bashing " for it.. I think I still have some mileage left in the XP kit.. Plus I still have not actually built the headline model, which I would like (...) (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
