Although melee/Five Star Stories-type mecha arent my thing, this looks like
a really well made mecha. Its refined and well proportioned. Well done.

Thanks... Ive actually never seen the FSS anime, but again, on Foundrydx.com he
built one, Temple, that was influenced by that show. And my mech was inspired
by his. I thought it would be cool to do a single color mech.

I like this one a lot. The head is very small, in keeping with anime mecha
proportions. I think the colour scheme could be a bit more focused though.
Right now it looks fragmented and disorganized. The guns could also be made
in a darker colour, to stand out more. Perhaps black or dark grey. Its up to
you really.

This is where Im unexperienced. Initially, I wanted to just do a blue one to
offset my red guy, but I kinda just made sure that it was symmetrical, and threw
the color scheme out the window! Youre definitely right though... the colors
look pretty sporatic. Ive been contemplating rebuilding this one for a month
now, so maybe this is the push I needed :) Also, Ill definitely make sure that
the guns stand out next time around!

NOTE: Im judging this in the mecha form only... Sorry... I dont like
transforming mecha all too much.
I really dig the torso... it has a Mark Neumann vibe to it. In fact, it looks
like a combination of mecha-type torso with mech-type torso.
The legs are the weakest part of this mecha. Its not that they are
completely awful, its just that they look a bit too skinny. I think if you
added some armoured plates onto them, the whole mecha would look like a
walking armoured tank, just as the torso suggests. This mecha just begs for
some heavy weaponry! :-)
|
They ARE weak :( Its in the process of being reworked... I really couldnt do
too much about the legs being thicker, but I changed up the knee joints to plate
hinges and made the feet less sharp. Right now its a Frankenstein, as Im
running out of the right colors (esp since theyve changed the grey), but I hope
to be able to share the remoded version soon (even if it is the Frankenstein!).
|
Also, I have admired the grey-red-black colour scheme for quite some time,
and I am thrilled to see it used again! I think if you added a bit more tan
(as seen in the knee joint), it would make the mecha even more interesting.
|
Haha... funny you say that... actually, the color scheme was made out of
necessity, as I couldnt find those 1x2 + pieces in any other color than red!
(Ive bought like 10 NBA dunk sets just to get those pieces)

You should link directly to your webpages from the images or provide the
link(s) earlier. Also, try to keep the images in the post small, its just
easier to read your message that way. If people want to see more, they will

Will do sir.

Overall, for first mecha, these are extremely good. Keep at it Eric!
