Hi all. Ive been a lurker for some time now, and Ive finally ballzed up
enough to want to share what Ive worked on. Just some background info, I
came across the foundrydx.com site in early 04 and it blew me away! Ive
always wanted to build mechs out of legos, but never knew that they could be
done like this. Anyhow, I gave it a shot myself, and came up with my first
ever mech (sadly, it no longer exists). However, I kept the very next one,
and everyone thereafter. I even gave a shot at trying a transformer type
mech! Theyre all almost a year old now, and I have a few more things done
and a few wips ... coming later :) I hope that these stand up to the great
things Ive seen here. Please, all comments and crits welcome (even the
nastiest crits!)
Thanks,
E.

Although melee/Five Star Stories-type mecha arent my thing, this looks like a
really well made mecha. Its refined and well proportioned. Well done.

I like this one a lot. The head is very small, in keeping with anime mecha
proportions. I think the colour scheme could be a bit more focused though. Right
now it looks fragmented and disorganized. The guns could also be made in a
darker colour, to stand out more. Perhaps black or dark grey. Its up to you
really.

NOTE: Im judging this in the mecha form only... Sorry... I dont like
transforming mecha all too much.
I really dig the torso... it has a Mark Neumann vibe to it. In fact, it looks
like a combination of mecha-type torso with mech-type torso.
The legs are the weakest part of this mecha. Its not that they are completely
awful, its just that they look a bit too skinny. I think if you added some
armoured plates onto them, the whole mecha would look like a walking armoured
tank, just as the torso suggests. This mecha just begs for some heavy weaponry!
:-)
Also, I have admired the grey-red-black colour scheme for quite some time, and I
am thrilled to see it used again! I think if you added a bit more tan (as seen
in the knee joint), it would make the mecha even more interesting.
You should link directly to your webpages from the images or provide the link(s)
earlier. Also, try to keep the images in the post small, its just easier to
read your message that way. If people want to see more, they will click on the
images.
Overall, for first mecha, these are extremely good. Keep at it Eric!

| (...) Thanks... I've actually never seen the FSS anime, but again, on Foundrydx.com he built one, "Temple", that was influenced by that show. And my mech was inspired by his. I thought it would be cool to do a single color mech. (...) This is where (...) (20 years ago, 17-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
