Heh, this is why I love reading your replies LFB, you get the reasoning behind
the design!
Yes, the head was originally a dull block, until I started fiddling around
trying to make it sexier. :-)
Too bad LEGO doesnt make pieces that are more suited to making things like this

I also like
the bar across the back--which brings to mind the big
rangefinders on seagoing warships HG turrets (even though
here they serve as HK-style mounts for the autocannon).

Yep, I definitely know what youre talking about. I have a fondness for big
ships as well, so subconsciously I must have been influenced.
In fact, I figure that the bar is where the bulk of the electronic equipment
(radar, comm, jammers, etc.) is housed. So it indeed has a role in aiming the
guns.
