Personally I think they suck. The range of motion is very limited and if you exceed that limit, the two halves of the ball pull apart and joint breaks. POP! End of story. (...) I just ordered some from bricklink. I had the same idea but unfortunately I don't think they work well as joints. They could have made the ball joints better if they made it a full ball instead of half. Hope this helps. (21 years ago, 6-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Hello, I've read posts here for years, but have made relatively few posts of my own. I blame it all on a mechanical engineers natural laziness.   Question Regarding Ball Joints
 
Just wondering, How strong are the new ball joints in the Geonosian Fighter and AT-TE? I'm (slowly) building a mecha and debating with myself whether to buy some for leg joints. The mecha will be a quadped (sp?). I've heard the joints are fairly (...) (21 years ago, 6-Apr-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
