  Re: Mechastruct Entry: Mighty Mech

(...) Pretty cool Man! This mecha looks like a further evolution of that red speed suit model you built this summer. You just can't get enough mecha building...your pace reminds me of Mladen's mecha building rate last year! When do you find the (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: who started.........

(...) While it is certainly likely that someone thought of the idea of using Lego minifig legs as arms before Karim, he is (to my knowledge) the first person who actually published his idea in the form of a website or online photos; as a result, the (...)   Re: Mechastruct Entry: Mighty Mech

(...) Wow! You dawg! Eric, this is another magnificent piece-- holy socks! Nice use of ball joint pieces, cleverly hidden, beautiful head and detailed back (I have fond memories of the 1x4 printed headlight piece. Cool colours, literally and (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: who started.........

No way Karim started that I have been using minifigs legs as hands since the late 80's. And I am sure there are those that did it before me. (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Karim Nassar is credited with the minifig legs as hands. (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: who started.........

(...) <snip> (...) Look at the fingers. They are minifig arms. That's what Jacob's asking about I think. I don't know who started the minifig legs as hands thing. That one is lost to the ages unless someone here remembers. Mark (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: who started.........

Really? I thought Sun Yun ((URL) did. At least that's the first place I saw them. (...) Not me, but I think it's a great way to get a quick hand that can hold a weapon securely. I used it here ((URL) Teacher: Define Sarcasm in five (\`--/') _ (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  who started.........

the whole mini-fig arms as hands thing? now, am not putting down, they are a great way to make your mech more real. but who started it? (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Starscream, Prime and Megatron Preview

Sweet!!!! (Just wait until Eric Sophie sees this!!) That Megatron rocks!! What to do next? Hm...how about Jetfire? Since most of us know Jetfire and the Robotech Valkryie mecha are identical, you've got a great cross-platform thing going on... Scott (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mechastruct entry, Dragonwolf

Thank you sir, thank you. I was sort of shooting for a mech/velociraptor sort of theme. I actually built three heads before satisfied for this beast. The first one just wouldn't hold itself together, the second is neat looking but a little too (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Starscream, Prime and Megatron Preview

No chance of doing it in the right colors there aren't even enough parts made in those colors to build it. I will probably do it in Yellow and black (or maybe blue), and if I get ambitious I would render it in cad using the right colors (neon green (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Starscream, Prime and Megatron Preview

(...) I'm curious I was planning on doing devastator as my first transformer, I picked up the cheap $10 knock-off on ebay to use as a model. BTW, if you want one of those chinese rip-offs for a collection, DONT the quality is absolute crap. But I (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mechastruct Entry: Mighty Mech

What really frightens me about this mech, is the head. I dunno, possibly it's the lack of mouth. It's so un-Sophie-ish... Right... Very cool. The rest of the mech is quite nicely built as well, Eric. I gotta ask though, how stable is the mecha? I'm (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mechastruct entry, Dragonwolf

Woah, when I first saw this my jaw dropped. I just love how you give your mechs so much personality, Mark. This one for some reason looks especially nasty and cruel. Also, the guns... 'all' the guns, are just fab, no doubt about that. I also like (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Contact-Me 2003

Great shot Eric, just one thing, AOL??? I mean, AOL???? The mechs are awesome, but A.O.L? You're not selling out I hope. Of course, I suppose a mech that automatically installed AOL on any computer it got near would be the most fearsome mech in the (...)   Re: Mechastruct entry, Dragonwolf

(...) I've played MW (1980s?) MW2, MW3, MW4, and MW5. (Microsoft product testing, sorry can't say anymore) I'm a big fan of the PC MW line. I'm also somewhat familliar with the Battletech board game. It's been years since I played it. I have not (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mechastruct entry, Dragonwolf

(...) Sorry to bring this off-topic ;) Have you played any of the mechwarrior PC games or Battletech board games? Although they do move a bit slower than the mechassault mechs, theres much more realism in the PC mechs (IM0) Plus there is a LOT more (...) (22 years ago, 19-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
