  Re: Inspiration...?

(...) Sure. (...) For me it was back in 84' (?!?) and a friend of mine introduced me to Battletech. I looked at the big old warhammer on the front of the box and I was done. I since considered myself a mech designer in training... These days? My (...) (23 years ago, 15-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Inspiration...?

(...) Not that I have the hook in my mouth as of yet, but what made me nibble on the bait is; Eric Sophie and Bryce McGlone hands down. From Eric's work the one that I feel needs to be mentioned is this: (URL) Mantis. (I still think you should take (...) (23 years ago, 15-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Inspiration...?

Calling all Mech heads out there! I just would like take a little poll here if you don't mind. I've seen alot of cool stuff out there that you've all built but I'm just curious as to what was the first mech/mecha that really got you "hooked". And (...)   Re: Agiel

Oh, man! Well, the Brickswest photos took _some_ of the mystery out of the unveiling, but took _none_ of the jaw-dropping awe-inspiring feeling away. Agiel is at once terrifying and beautiful-- like a king cobra or a super-nova. The scale, the (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: A very inspiring design

Joe's awesome-- no doubt. Just when you think he's covered every style of bipedal motion, he comes up with another. I'd LOVE to see some more (besides Eric Sophie's brilliant creations) lego mecha that are actually mobile. I've yet to incorporate my (...)   Re: trying to get a head in life

Well, let's see. What's your definition of "medium." For me that'd be a head maybe 4x4 stud squarish. (actually that'd be a good string, define your size... Eric's small is probably pretty close to my large) But, back on topic. You're going to hate (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

trying to get a head in life

I am having alot of trouble making heads for medium size mecha. Ihave looked at many designs around here and in other places, but i just can't seem to get it right. The only requirments I have is that it is centered onto a single stud and fits a (...) (23 years ago, 11-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: A very inspiring design

Wow! This biped is awsome. Joe has some very slick designs, I am completly humbled by this simplicity of this particular biped. It even turns, which is VERY hard to implement. There are other bipeds that claim to turn..I have serious doubts about (...) (23 years ago, 11-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build)

(...) I can't believe what you guys are building! It's nothing but a miracle to me. I regret that I won't ever be able to see those things in real...sniff... Congratulations again! Thomas / CH (23 years ago, 11-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Putting up the 03

<snip all the Agiel stuff (no offense Eric)> (...) How flippin' fun was it to set up Brian's mecha together? That was one of the highlights of BricksWest!!! Eric and I going ga ga (not gla gla that's someone different) over 03!!! We kept pointing to (...) (23 years ago, 11-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
