  Re: New MOC: Aquilla

Hey cool Joel, that looks really spiffy. I like the wings, that's a pretty clever idea you have there, The feet are well done as well. The greeblies on the back are sweet, as they go well with the cockpit area, which is waaaaaay too sweet! :-D Great (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New! NOM Unit-01: Black Metal

Bobby, Well done! This is really nice, it has such a nice smooth shape to it, cool, I really like the engines on the back, very cool, they look sweet back there. I'm interested in your method of attaching the armour skirts, they are very well done, (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mecha Joint Tech

(...) Something they should (and probably won't) release immediately is an accessory pack of just the hinges with friction pins on either end -- no arm lengths! They probably can't do anything smaller than the 2x2x2 socket element based on the (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Mecha Joint Tech

(...) Yes but they're scale models, not toys. (I have to keep reminding myself of this ;-) Actually once you go with gears, a non-geared joint just isn't as much fun, not as realistic, though technically a real mecha wouldn't use gears, more like (...)   Mecha Group Shots

Hey guys, these are some group shots giving some idea of size comparision's. (URL) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mecha Joint Tech

(...) Good point. They are too weak not be doubled up in large mecha and that technique limits the flexability- especially in the arms. (...) Plus , they're rather costly to acquire. Furthermore,(and I hope Brian Cooper takes no offense to this (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: New! NOM Unit-01: Black Metal

(...) I am happy you like it! As for the arms, this is a Mobile Armor vs. a Mobile Suit so I decided to leave the arms as they are. If I add more weapons to the Black Metal in the future however, I will most likely take your advice and beef up the (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New! NOM Unit-01: Black Metal

(...) I love rounded shapes very much, especially when they have a lot of sharp edges! For some reason, rounded edges and machines of war have never made a good combination in my mind. Take Turn A Gundam for example (the Gundams are covered in (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New! NOM Unit-01: Black Metal

(...) Thanks, but remember, the Black Metal was made for a stop motion animation, and only when properly animated can its true power be brought to light. If your hoards want to invade, its fine by me, but I keep the pieces once my mecha tear them to (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New turbocycle, with a twist!

(...) Sorry mate :) When are you going to post yours, so that the community can compare and contrast? I'm interested to see what direction you took. Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New turbocycle, with a twist!

(...) Bah! You beat me to the punch. I had one made Saturday night, but didn't have time to take pics. I must say tho, you did much better than me. ;-) Very cool stuff. Your bot went a totally different direction than mine did. -Chris (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Legomaster's Entry for Ryan's Mecha Contest

Ha ha , hey it's almost like we should have a "UDP" Contest, and call it The Ultimate Defense Platform Contest! Nah, Maby I'll just name it lil' Galaxy Enforcer! ;) Legomaster Hey Lindsay, wanna go to the Gardenslug meeting? (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Worth looking at!

Oh ya, now that I looked from home there is a background .Gif that will drive your computer bezerk depending on how well your CPU can deal with the influx of data. Cool thing is during a Lull at the job, the connection at work is real fast, so if (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  New quad-legged MOC: Barghest

Recently I ventured into the Mecha construction field yet again, and have produced a four-legger which I am very proud of. (URL) are two flaws with the DAT. I could not correcly align the technic springs with the legs, so they appear slightly (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

hey guys- just noticed your postings while lurking... i too have used armored castle figs with space and racer heads for that "retro-tech" or "morden-day mounted knight" pilot look, just seemed kinda appropriate. anyhoo- the whole monkey pilot idea (...)
