Getting my own fingers into this mech thing.

Hi, everyone! Seeing the general buzz that's always in .build.mecha and my desire to continue procrastinating on this grant proposal, I've been inspired to risk rendering a 20-year- old design into LEGO. It's from a universe I've been working on (...) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.build) !

  Re: LEGO in Washington Post

Thanks for the excitment Geordan. I'd like to correct or rather explain something Dave said...(it's below) (...) Here's the deal. Living close by entitles Dave to see the Cankerworm early only so I can beg hime for more parts. I usually say (...) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Hey everybody: A few things...

Colin, What's up? It's good to know you're still here. I too have enjoyed seeing this group grow over the 2 years I've been here. You will always be one of the Original Mecha Builders. (that's OMB kids. Our new mecha catch phrase). Thanks for (...) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LEGO in Washington Post

(...) Sorry, Geordan...I'm the only one who gets to see it early and that's only because I live close by...everyone else has to wait another 2 weeks. I will tell you this much: I got to hear Cankerworm on the phone yesterday. It sounds both mean and (...) (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Ball & socket joints.

John, A few of us got together to 'do the math' on the various sets that contain the 'ball with axle-hole' part in them. We discovered that, using retail prices only, Pohatu was by far the best deal. He contains two 'ball with axle-hole' parts for (...) (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Hey everybody: A few things...

(...) Since you brought it up, do you mind if I ask a few questions? I'm curious about which CAD programs you've tried on your 486. MLCAD and LeoCad support the mouse. Are they too slow on the 486, or is the problem a lack or screen space or colors? (...) (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Object lesson in bad photography (Poison!)

(...) Shoot K! You see right throug me. I came back a few weeks ago from vacation and I was planning to keep quiet until I get something build but no, you had to show off your 04! :) Bobby (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Object lesson in bad photography (Poison!)

(...) Absolutely right! It's really too bad no one said that early, for my mind has already been warped from this "poison". Bobby (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mecha Hall of Fame.JPG

(...) Hi Eric The image is made entirely from the images used in the Mecha Hall of Fame and therefore I am hopping that the "founders" will use it on their web site one-day. Besides, these are some of the best Lego mechs and I have always wanted to (...) (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build)

  Hey everybody: A few things...

(Sorry if any of this sounds long-winded or "speechy" or anything. Just pent-up after reading from work without email for several weeks.) :] Hi all, popping my head in for a moment. My current job has me commuting to work for eons and staying with (...) (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Use more light sources, all the same "temperature" (don't mix halogen, flourescent and incadescent), from different angles, and diffuse it. You can diffuse the light using a diffuser (expensive if you aren't into photography as a hobby), or (...) (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
