  Re: LEGO in Washington Post

(...) Hey Dave, my Cankerworm uses Bionicle in the neck! (Shameless plug #2!!!) (URL) outta here! Later, Bryce (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Announcing: The Mecha Factory

(...) Wonderful David. The whole factory. All the details. Pure mecha. Damn that's so beautiful. Damn... Bryce (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Mladen, One of you best. You should be proud. I like the backpack fin things. Very inspiring! Later, Bryce (...) (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LEGO in Washington Post

(...) Don't feel bad, Mark. I do it too. It's the one Lego piece that shouldn't exist, but I believe it gave birth to the part we both love-the Bionicle ball with axlehole. I know you had used this part, that's why I didn't mention it in the first (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LEGO in Washington Post

Oh sorry, I didn't know you were referring to that pieces. ;-) Still, I'm a *bit* of a purist, and think that type of stuff is still wrong. (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LEGO in Washington Post

(...) I didn't chop up the regular ball-joint limbs, just the useless Throwbot Throwing arm (the one that fires the disc) If you know how to "work around" those, I'd sure like to see some ideas, because there's no studs or technic holes or nothin'. (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LEGO in Washington Post

(...) well (...) "useless throwbot arms" That's exactly what Dave was saying not to do. Why destroy a piece when you can work around it? I didn't have to chop off any pieces from my Bionicle ball-joint arms; I incorporated them into the design. (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LEGO in Washington Post

(...) I appreciate the nod, but I used absolutely no Buy-onicle parts whatsoever in my latest mecha. I used the ball and socket bits from C-3P0, and I used two ball bits that I chopped off the end of those useless throwbot arms. (Egad!) In a related (...) (...) Wow. I mean, WOW. That is really... um... dang. I think there's a picture of this in the dictionary, next to "mecha" *whistles* ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01

Mark Do you have some close up photos of the door/ladder? I can't quite tell how you have the door open and recess. What keeps it from falling out completely? (and yes I am spamcake drive capable, although I am low on my supply right now) I'm trying (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

(...) Interesting rant Harvey, but I take offense to a couple of things you mention in it. (...) If their formula had continued to be a winning one throughout the '90s, Lego would have continued to use it. I prefer to look at it as 'they held on as (...)   Re: Announcing: The Mecha Factory

(...) Wow Dave! It's really nice to see you back in action! You have been so quiet lately I thought you left Lugnet. That is a killer page. I love the filters you used on the wallpapers. The actual interior of the Mecha Factory is fantastic! I wish (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Never noticed the wheels on your mecha. The Heavy Gear PC game also implemented that idea. For those who don't know and are interested, here's info on the Mecha Domain's shutdown: (URL) Dickinson (URL) Pejic wrote: (cut) (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) All I can say is WOW! I've just gotten back into Lego after a long long Dark Period. I wouldn't even know where to begin to create one of these beauties, but the Tortoise (and David's Warhammer) have inspired me to give it a shot. Mladen, your (...)
