Re: New Mecha - "Tortoise" Next-Generation Land Mecha

(...) What I was getting at is that I've never seen this ised on a Lego mech. It seems like such an obvious thing, but I've been oblivious to it until now. -Dave (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha - "Tortoise" Next-Generation Land Mecha

(...) ;-) (...) Thanks Dave! Yes, those are wheels! They actually prevent the legs from sliding to the sides, but their "real" purpose is to help the mecha navigate through tight urban areas. I also imagine they would increase the land speed too, (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha - "Tortoise" Next-Generation Land Mecha

Okay, Mladen....cut it out...quite making the rest of us feel like slackers. ;-) I like the bulked up design on Tortoise. It makes Azriel look tiny in comparison. I have to agree with the comment that the blue and tan look fabulous-especially when (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Announcing: The Mecha Factory

I forgot to mention just how much I love the way you detailed everthing to look like it's in nanofig scale. The 'stairway' and passageway to the right of the mecha do so much to reinforce the scale that you work at. Fantastic! -Dave (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Announcing: The Mecha Factory

(...) David, this is a fantastic looking site! I love the design. It doesn't surprise me that Sun would let you use the name, he's a stand-up kinda' guy! Like Eric, I wasn't terribly familiar with your building style until I saw it at the Mecha Hall (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha - "Tortoise" Next-Generation Land Mecha

Thanks Kyle! I really should have made those grenade launchers into auto-cannons, oh well... So much for trying to be different. ;-) (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Announcing: The Mecha Factory

WOW! Simply amazing Dave. The "Warhammer" redefines micro-fig bipedal mecha. It's so beautiful; excellent work! I love the new mecha site. The stylized images remind of the comic-book story boards seen in Max Payne (PC game). Very, very cool... (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha - "Tortoise" Next-Generation Land Mecha

As I told you yesterday, sawweeeet! I really like the cannons, er, grenade launchers... And it's quite spiffy how they can be removed! Another Mladen beauty! (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Announcing: The Mecha Factory

Holly kookamundo! Very, very, very nice models. That new one is just amazing! Is it supposed to to be microfig scale? Some of the equipment around it looks like it... The diarama and site rock too! It's nice to see some of your older stuff again too (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Announcing: The Mecha Factory

That's some really fine work, David. The presentation of the site's quite nice too. I don't really like the images opening up in a separate window, but that's a personal preference on my part. Otherwise, fabulous mecha! Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
