Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

Hehe, I was really mad when I first wrote it. To be honest though, when I think of mechs the first thing I think about is Colossus because the first time I saw it my jaw dropped :-). It's sort of burnt in to memory "Excellent mech=Colossus" -- (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Non-Lego Robotech Question

(...) Yep, just got the second box yesterday. :) (...) The DVD release is the complete uncut broadcast series. :) Everything is there, including the original eyecatches, which I don't think have been broadcast since the original run. Also, the (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: a small insignificant survey

Well, I don't build with mech at all, but I thought I'd toss my two cents in about my town/space/castle structures. Thinking back upon my oldest MOC...I'd say it strectched back ten years or so. Over the past five years or so, I've increased the (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Non-Lego Robotech Question

My apologies if this non-Lego topic doesn't really belong here, but I figured it was a good start. Does anyone own any of the Robotech DVD's? I was wondering if missing scenes were restored. I have some of the tapes from the late 80's and I know (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Questions... (Warning: NEWBIE Alert.)

(...) Well, you guys gave me some great tips and examples. Although this is only a reply to Dave, (I don't want to dump too many messages) I want to thank you all for taking the time to help a newbie like me. At this moment, brickshelf.com is (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Maybe you guys didn't read the last message

Yes waiter I'll have the big ol' mecha a la Metal Gear with a side of lots of missles. <waiter> coming right up sir! and then BAM this mecha comes trotting on out. Very nice. I have a couple questions: Is that Mark in the first photo? If so how old (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Questions... (Warning: NEWBIE Alert.)

(...) Hi Mark! Mecha are an interesting phenomenon in that few Lego creations have more points of articulation. I'd suggest looking over Colin R. Gutierrez' building tips: (URL) These are the best tips I've come across thus far and my first couple (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Questions... (Warning: NEWBIE Alert.)

(...) Hi, Mark! Were I to give advice to someone just starting out (and I guess I am), I would tell them to start out in the 8-12 inch tall range. Make sure you have a good way to do the joints (most people these days use SW click hinges and technic (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Questions... (Warning: NEWBIE Alert.)

(...) Well I am definitely not a expert, I've still got about 359 more degrees to go on the mecha learning curve, but I'll try and give you some hopefully helpful info anyway. Don't try to do anything really big right off the start, start small and (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
