Re: Building my first Mecha with an RCX - advice please?

(...) Hard long thought... ... my creative side says "The Head" but my technical side says "The Legs" - you gotta walk before you can run (and hunt and kill and destroy). As I am now on 2 weeks leave I'll have some time to get started. Watch this (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Building my first Mecha with an RCX - advice please?

(...) Thanks - let's wait and see how I go. (...) I guess that primarily two of the motors would handle the legs or wheels for direction. Next I'd have at least one motor to raise or lower arms. Of course I hadn't forgotten the head - so I'd use a (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Building my first Mecha with an RCX - advice please?

(...) Very cool. (...) I'd think bi-pedal would be a tough thing, dealing with balance and all. 3+ legs would help, if you really want it to walk. I'm not a huge fan of wheels, how about tank treads? That would be cool, and easy to control w/ just (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Building my first Mecha with an RCX - advice please?

Hi, I am about to embark on building my very first Mecha and intend to incorporate the Mindstorms RCX unit (with motors/light sensor/etc.). Does anyone have some advice they can offer? Should a Mech use bi-ped walking or wheels? Are there some sites (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Oops...been meaning too myself...I'll do it now... My color preferences: 1) Mars RedRangers 2) The Crusaders And I enjoy the site, especially the design of the buttons, and now your neat drawings for these mechs. Nice stuff. Matt (23 years ago, 11-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: Kierbis

(...) I think you're reading a little too much into the color :) After all, I'm from Ohio, so I'm a Buckeyes fan (when I do much of anything with college sports). However, both the Browns and Bengals use orange in their uniforms, and I am a fan of (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: Kierbis

(...) I do not think that sand green is available in bulk packs but I do know that you can order a Statue of Liberty LEGO set that has hundreds of these sand green LEGO pieces and a few gray and yellow pieces as well so you could probably build a (...)   Re: New Mecha: Kierbis

(...) I never argued that Adrain could not accomplish a uniquely designed mecha. I guess I should have never brought annoying college football arguements into this place but I do like the design of the mecha. I just wish that you could design more (...)
