<ramble> The first anime based show I remember watching was Star Blazers/Battleship Yamato (Though I don't remember mecha, per se.) Later I discovered Robotech and devoured every episode. Robotech, man! :-, Then Go-Bots and Transformers (blech now), and Battletech later, though since early Battletech stole mucho from Robotech (which in turn stole mucho from Macross and Mospeda) I feel I can't really count that.
