  Re: Lego Mechspo

(...) Piggybacking on an existing national lego convention would be a good route for a non-virtual exhibit. But I don't know of any such convention. I can only imagine vast lego displays at the Las Vegas Convention Center... A Mechspo web gallery (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Macross/Robotech toy information

(...) Magnificent. I remember having the Japanese Cyclone model ordered through an outlet, and getting my Alpha fighters at K-B when they were remaindered there... (...)   Re: Jeremy Sproat

well, thank you all for correcting me... battletech is about the only place from whence i know a great deal of mechs... it is pretty obvious how they stole some of their designs, although i'm afraid i haven't seen many anime with mecha that look (...)   Re: Jeremy Sproat

(...) FASA acquires and recycles designs from anime. This is the Macross original J.S. was emulating: (URL) think FASA also has a clone of this other mech, which is pretty lame since it was designed to accomodate a 50 foot giant Zentradi: (URL) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Jeremy Sproat

(...) Actually, the "Warhammer" was a design lifted from the Robotech series, which was in turn lifted from several Anime series. The "Raidar X" mecha was one of 13 (IIRC) designs FASA was forced to 'give back' to the company that produced Robotech. (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Jeremy Sproat

Yes Making a larger Robot based on this design, It would be great, I see what you are saying about exploring the use of the ball and socket design, there's somthing great about a prototype right?   Re: Jeremy Sproat

did you by chance base it on the Fasa "Warhammer" mech? the resemblance is uncanny... if so it's a very good likeness. if not... YOU LIE!!! (j/k, it's still a very nice mech, and i like how you did the torso and legs and connected them. is there (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Clicking Turntables . . .

(...) The 'clickiness' of the turntable is pretty strong at first, but the nubs seem to wear down more quickly than on a click hinge. I've had mine for a week now, and it can only hold about half the weight it could at first. (...) Just like the (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Jeremy Sproat

(...) If the former, maybe. If the latter, maybe. ;-) This was really just a sketch, me exploring how to use the Throwbots ball-and-socket joint parts. I hope to return to this model (it's one of my all-time favorites mecha) with this general (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Clicking Turntables . . .

(...) Thanks for the pics Jeremiah! That helps a lot. But now I'm actually more curious. Couple questions . . . . 1. How strong is the movement? Less than a click hinge? Better than a standard? I guess what I'm wondering if it could bear some (...) (24 years ago, 20-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Clicking Turntables . . .

(...) Yes, it's true - there is a click turntable. But there's a catch: (URL) It's got thingies on the bottom that allow it to slide on slotted bricks: (URL) So it's useful, but only if you can find a way to build around it. HTH, -jeremiah- (24 years ago, 20-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Nomination/Webpage Redesign....

Well I got my page redesigned, and hope it loads better, you want to run on 800 x 600 and as many colors as possible, but 16bit or 256 is OK. My hopes were that it could be nominated for Cool LEGO Site of the Week, It would be cool, I think my (...) (24 years ago, 20-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)
