  Re: Help with waist design

(...) Thanks for the suggestion. Due to the weight of the torso, which will increase, I ended up using a regular rubber band doubled on the outer ring and saran wrap on the inner ring. Travis (25 years ago, 15-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Help with waist design

(...) I have had good luck with a very 'low tech' solution to the 4x4 turntable: I just looped a rubber band (from an old Technic set!) around the 'base' piece, so that the 'top' piece sat over it in two spots. The rubber gave some friction between (...) (25 years ago, 14-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Help with waist design

I'm working on a new mecha design which is coming along fairly well. Anyways, I have become frustrated with the 4x4 turntable part that I am using as the waist. Does anyone know how to tighten this part or have a different idea for a waist? Travis (...) (25 years ago, 14-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Thanks, Ben. At first, I had designed those pods as engines, but a friend of mine said they looked like heavy LRM pods, and I thought it was a good suggestion, so I guess they're missiles now. :^) I would have liked to make the legs better-looking, (...)
