  Re: Finally!!!

Yeah, that kind of armour (Terminator Squad) is pretty hard to model around a mini-fig. (...) I've (...) be (...) (24 years ago, 18-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Finally!!!

(...) It's funny, I was just looking at pics of that shortly before I posted what I did... I've done exoskeletons like this before, too. For example: (URL) of the type I'm talking about being hard to model in minifig scale can be seen at: (URL) down (...) (24 years ago, 18-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: What is that mysterious green thing?

(...) it (...) I was afraid of that. I knew the torso was a little bit long and the legs a little bit short, but I'm not sure where to take stuff out. The waist thing, well, I'm entirely unsure how to widen it, because of the design of the lower (...) (24 years ago, 18-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: My first POV-Ray

First rendering... Yeah right; looks like you're a pro with POV-Ray! Damn, I can't even render a nice sky... At first I saw your model and thought, hmmm... doesn't look very interesting. BUT, then I saw the .dat file, and wow! I really like how the (...) (24 years ago, 18-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: What is that mysterious green thing?

Nice additions, but now that I look at it again, the torso looks way, way to huge for the limbs. And it's way to small above/near the pelvic area, giving it a funny He-Man action figure look. (...) webhosting (...) (24 years ago, 18-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: What is that mysterious green thing?

Because I'm a tease, I took another couple of pictures of the Goblin (as it's currently known.) This time it's outfitted with plenty of weapons. More pictures and details will be written up soon enough, but for now this will do. Plus it'll test out (...) (24 years ago, 18-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: What is that mysterious green thing?

(...) is (...) Yeah, but how much will it cost? I wouldn't be surprised if it would kick the Goblin's ass. After all, I designed it to look cool, not necessarly to perform well in BrikWars. I'm hesitant to even cost him :) (...) would (...) Umm, I (...) (24 years ago, 18-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  My first POV-Ray

I've been building like crazy for BrikWars. Well, I've been playing with MLCad and POV-Ray (and a bunch o' other utilities). So I've got a ray-trace that I like. Have a look and let me know what you think. (URL) Thanks, Gino A... BTW, I tried to (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Finally!!!

I don't know about building the Coleopteran just the way it looks, but perhaps you could just capture its feel (or philosophically: essence)! "Oh now! Mladen's using big words again, run, flee to the nearest Mecha Hanger... And prepare for the (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Finally! Pallas Spaceworks Update

(...) Hey, I hate being a me-too'er, but that Magellan *is* most excellent ;-) What I liked most was the observation dome on the front of the Magellan. Do you mind if I borrow the idea?   Re: Finally!!!

(...) Well, I don't know about that. :) And remember that the original design is David White's. In fact, I just recieved this E-mail from him: "AWESOME. I love it, I really do. I had a game company buy the rights to the spider tank design. They're (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Finally!!!

(...) Yes, the arms are built on pins, so the weapons are really modular. I've built these in a bunch of different mission configs with different weapons. Maybe later I'll put some of them up on Brickshelf. I'd love to see some of these guys in a (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Finally!!!

(...) It does indeed capture a lot of the aspects of the Dreadnaught. Are the arms built on technic pin joints? That would make swapping them out really, really easy. Hmmm. More BrikWars fodder... it's getting to a point where I could field a Space (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Finally!!!

(...) Thanks! Yeah, the Toad started out as part of a feeble attempt at making some 40k stuff. Nothing really cool turned out, but I reworked the quasi-dreadnought and got this. I'm pretty happy with it now. -Jeremiah- (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)
