Re: What is that mysterious green thing?

(...) I'm working on a four-legged robot tank that would easily take him on. <evil grin> (...) I've had to go completely TL6 in order to have enough power to get my mechs standing on their own legs. Why is that unfortunate? Later, Gino A... (25 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: tightening up mecha joints

(...) I saw your suggestion about the cling wrap before and I used it on my own mecha to make the friction pins fit tighter in place. It works great! My mecha can stand up on his own now! =) He can aim his gun for days without ever lowering his (...) (25 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: tightening up mecha joints

(...) Well, it's kinda annoying to do, but something I did for my mech (the legs would just bow right out when I tried to pose him) was a method using paper slips. I cut some very narrow slips of paper, and for each technic pin joint, I would stick (...) (25 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

What's the best way to tighten up technic friction pin joints used for mecha? I have an old-style technic pin (a little tighter than the newer ones with the rectangular cutouts) holding the shoulders and hips of my new mech together. The shoulders (...)   Re: Finally!!!

(...) First off, thanks! Wow, to think the great Mladen is jelous of *me*... :) Secondly, yes, I build my models (or at least structural mock-ups) IRL and then LDraw them. The ZOOT Suit was inspired by Jsproat's armor years ago and has been keeping (...) (25 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Finally!!!

Looks like someone has been studing some multi-legged mecha pictures: (URL) mecha Jeremiah, I'm growing more and more jealous of you! ;-) Your SpiderTank thingy is amazing, and I know I'm building a Toad Suit tonight! ;-) BTW I'm kinda sad to see (...)   Finally!!!

Hey all, Well, I finally did it - I figured out that *I* was the problem at my Brickshelf account (or at least my choice in filenames was...), and now I have my three favorite creations from my "Broken Earth" universe. See them here: (URL) Shown are (...) (25 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)
