Well, this doesn't answer your question, but I have a comment to add. I
build all my MOC's IRL and with lots of little parts, so there is no way I
am going to sit down and count all the parts. I assume the peice limit is
just a guideline, and that I can just guess approximatly and be all good.

Tom,
I have a rather odd question for you. I've remodeled a MOC L-CAD ship
(non-published) I built a couple of years ago. It's supposed to be a
flagship-class upgrade to the 6954, but with its Commander's pod, it comes out
60 pieces to large. (460 over a max of 400.) Since its detachable, I'm not too
worried, but wondered what your advice is. Would it be ok for me to keep it
there? or should I remove it (bringing my total down to about 390) which with
minifigs (as 5 pieces in 1987-88), will put me under the posted limit. Let me
know what you think.

P.S.: Some of the sub-models were previously built by Kevin M. Bane. Do you
mind if I leave credit for him on the unedited sub-models (such as the 6954's
engine pods)?

I feel kinda dumb asking this as I'm on the committee, but when does this
thing officially start?  The web page is up and ready at
http://www.calpoly.edu/~tsciorti/bt1com.html and I'm ready to start taking
entries.  I was under the impression that Jude was "in charge" here, but if
I am, then I say we're ready.

Well, the piece limit is just a guide line, but 60/400 is a fairly significant percentage over the limit. My first recommendation is to simply enter it in the general category, category VII. There is no official parts limit for that category, so (...) (23 years ago, 4-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)
