Lame Parts Entry - Wibble Asteroid Sailer —Michael Dallaston
Here is my (lame) entry for the Lame parts contest. I'm building another, much better one, which should be done soon, but for now... The Wibble are a peculiar race that evolved in an asteroid belt. Intrepid Wibble explorers move around using craft (...) (22 years ago, 1-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Hi Michael, I like it! The rowboat looks good turned backwards and you chose a good sail. Probably one of the few with a design that might be mistaken for space. The manta fits in good as well. Better than in my entry. The Wibble is fun too. I (...) (22 years ago, 1-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Hi Josh, thanks for the compliments! The Wibble was initially just a way to use two more lame pieces, but I think it looks cute :) It is held together with boring old Blu-tack (a bit of a cop-out, but unavoidable in the circumstances). And a (...) (22 years ago, 1-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Hey Michael, The football pieces are about 10 cents on bricklink. You could make six wibbles and use the six for all your pictures. You could make an entire lame wibble asteroid belt. Maybe this could be the start of a new newsgroup, off of .space (...) (22 years ago, 1-Dec-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Hey, nice job Michael! I like it- while it does use a rowboat, manta ray, and sail, it does not look 'forced'- the engines and the hoses on the side help it look like a spaceship. Can't wait for your next entry! Oh, and the Wibble is nice too! :) (...) (22 years ago, 1-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Thanks! I think placing certain restrictions can actually help one's creativity a lot. I hope a lot of other people enter this contest; show the world there's no such thing as a 'specialized' piece :) (...) They're still floating around... (...)         Re: Lame Parts Entry - Wibble Asteroid Sailer —Allister McLaren
(...) Nice one. The rowboat especially is integrated nicely. I look forward to seeing the next one. Are you coming to the BUGs meeting? Bring it along if you do - it'll look good sitting next to my own lamepartcraft the Duckfish. I'll put it up on (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Lame Parts Entry - Wibble Asteroid Sailer —Michael Dallaston
(...) I'll be there! (I'll drop you an email for the address.) Very good use of the saucer sections on the Duckfish, btw. I reckon they're the lamest part of all, even though they were originally meant for space :) Michael Dallaston (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)
