Hi all!
I am working on a new projeckt, which I'd like to document once.
My problem is, that I do not know, nor am sure, of all architectual terms. Word
like roof and walls, arch do not count here, but might be there anyway.
As for now, I am using these words and mentioned below.
Do we have a dictionary here, or should we create one?
Here is my start:
Pinnacle: Top of tower, the roof - usually very steep.
? : upper part of tower (Tipp in Estonian).
Cornicle : "end of roof" wall.????
Carnap: ?
Gable: decoration under roof.
Railing: the wall, or fence style building around a roof.
Shield: typical on manor houser etc. The symbol built into the wall or railing.
Stylobate: the top step of an outdoor staircase.
Stereobate: step on an ourdoor staircase, but not the upper one.
Drumms: vertical lines (in columns)
Column: "post" to support roof (picture needed)
Shaft: middle part of Column, not including upper decoration nor base.
Boss - middle stone in arches in arched seilings.
And so on.
I am not sure that I know all those right. Even more funny, these words I know
better in English due to Lego than in languages I use everyday.
