rating) and a large upstairs hallway attained via a twin curved staircase.

This is my favorite part of your manor.  It looks very elegant and the tan and
white look really good together.  How sturdy is the staircase?

quite sturdy, it's travelled quite well to two different locations and while
others things (especially trees and baseplates) have fallen apart, the staircase
remains intact.  it's an improvement on a previous model (see cliffhouse in
brickshelf folder, if interested) because i used 1x2 studs and 1x1 round plates
to hold each 2x4 plate.  this creates a nice offset and curve at the same time.
the most fragile items are the 1x2 tiles used for the outside curve of the
banister.  they sit atop the 1x1 round bricks but not in the centre and fall off
if i drop something into the hall and have to retrieve it.

thanks for the positive feedback,
