(...) And just think, you only got back into Lego for Star Wars! :D eric (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: First block of Main Street for Brikwars, Train, or Modern town display

(...) Thanks! (...) Oops! I knew I forgot something. I had meant to add a back door like in other buildings. The assumption being that the stairs were accessed there and it was not a secondary entrance to the store. (...) I have been thinking about (...)   Re: First block of Main Street for Brikwars, Train, or Modern town display

Very cool! I for one am impressed! I really like the look of the corner building. Reminds me of a lot of suburban downtowns with retail on the bottom, and trendy apartments up top. Only suggestions I'd make are: Some kind of exterior covered (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

First block of Main Street for Brikwars, Train, or Modern town display

Well I won't go into to much detail here because most of it is on the web page. The origional inspiration for this was buildings others brought to NELUG's Brikwars games although I had stopped work on it for the last month or two as I got distracted (...)   Re: Car Dealership

(...) How sad; I was hoping they were trans-lt-blue... I was reaaally looking forward to starting construction on a model of the Citicorp Center in Manhattan. Alas, I will have to wait... Why are they clear? The picture on lego.com is very clearly (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) a (...) stereotype (...) Beta- (...) up. I think that symbol is a front view of a LEGO steering wheel, so I doubt it means much. But it would lean more towards the driving school vs. a dealership. I think I would think twice about buying one (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) And the correct answer is: A: None of your business! As far as you know, I'm paying cash because I already arranged financing somewhere else, and oh, by the way, the amount I arranged is also none of your business, although you can figure it (...)   Re: Car Dealership

(...) I always saw the huge showroom window as more of a parking space for the car. You would think that lego could have used its "showroom" window piece that was available at the time(as seen in 6375 Exxon Gas Station in clear and 6970 Beta- 1 (...)   Re: Car Dealership

(...) Beautiful...my only suggestion is to make the architecture a bit more interesting. Break up those windows with some supporting pillars, maybe. --Bram (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) They wouldn't be bad, just not ideal. Most office windows I've seen are tinted. There are some that are clear, and it probably wouldn't look bad. It also depends on the color scheme of the building. Trans-lt-blue probably wouldn't go with red (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) I always assumed it was an auto repair shop. Jeff may have a point, considering what's inside. Maybe the person that designed it could tell us? KL (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) Nope, I'm pretty sure it is a car dealership. The minifig fits the stereotype perfectly, and why would a driving school have a huge showroom window? The second floor office has the feel of a car dealership as well, at least to me. Jeff (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

(...) Are the clear windows really that bad for use in office windows? (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Car Dealership

(...) I believe the red building in 6390 Main Street housed a driving school, not a car dealership. (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)
