Re: New MOC: 6,000 piece Empire State Building

(...) Very ambitious and very impressive, Sean! It is really fun to see AFOLs built such large MOCs-- on a scale of 1 to 10, this one goes to 11! ;-) Nicely done! JOHN (21 years ago, 16-May-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Ben: (...) Yes... they change the lights atop the Empire State Building all the time, according to a schedule that reflects the current time of year, or a holiday.   New MOC: 6,000 piece Empire State Building

All: I have just completed a 4.5 foot tall model of The Empire State Building: (URL) new model remains very faithful to the design of the real Empire State Building. I had to "fudge" things, obviously... For example, the scale would make a single (...) (21 years ago, 15-May-03, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch) !!

(...) lol Mind? I'd be honored to have an MOC of mine inspire a part of the GFLTC layout! But beware-- that building took almost a year to complete (acquiring parts), and not cheaply either:-/ It is also by far and away the most delicate of all my (...) (...) I agree that the log bricks create a "neat" effect. For those who are reading along, here is a great example of what Stefan is talking about: (URL) thought the color of the frame and the facade are the same color, the indentation of the log (...) John, The all building rock! But, I like the gray building with the 2x3 light blue windows the best. I am going have to make one for my self, if you don't mind? Build on LTD... Robin W GFLTC/GFLUG (...) (21 years ago, 15-May-03, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains.org)
