Re: The Brick Testament begins the Book of Joshua

Hi, Matthew. (...) I've reviewed the passages describing the parting of the Jordan, and while the text doesn't rule out that the water piled up downstream as well, I have to agree that it would make more sense to portray this scene with only one (...)   Re: The Brick Testament begins the Book of Joshua

(...) Unless man is spouse of prostitute. PS, I hope you are prepared for some solid levels of hate mail now that your coverage is moving into this contentious area. I imagine more than a few people will be surprised by what the Bible says happened (...) (20 years ago, 18-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Brick Testament begins the Book of Joshua

Not to nit-pick, but Joshua 3:15-16 says "As soon as the feet of the priests carrying the ark of the covenant touched the water, the water coming downstream toward them stopped". You portray the water piled up both upstream and downstream, rather (...) (20 years ago, 18-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: Instructions for Sphnix

(...) Stefan Vorst has made a large Sphinx (URL) there are no instructions. A Lego set from 1998 (set 5978) included a small Sphinx: (URL) will try to help you with this. -Erik (20 years ago, 18-Aug-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.inst, lugnet.build.ancient)

I am the principal at a school in Cairo, Egypt for students with learning difficulties. To encourage reading staff and students race to build objects that symbolize a field trip site. For example, last year we built the Step Pyramid and then visited (...) (20 years ago, 18-Aug-04, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Brick Testament begins the Book of Joshua

Hey, Bruce. (...) Thanks. (...) Point taken. (...) Needed something to tie the rope around for the spies' descent--as well as something to conceivably tie the scarlet cord to (although that will never actually be shown). (...) D'oh! Hadn't even (...)   Re: The Brick Testament begins the Book of Joshua

Hey Brendan, Great stuff as always. Spies and the Prostitute: I wouldn't have done the sex scene, but oh well. The blue and yellow room in 2:2 is great, especially the blue axles in the yellow bricks with axle hole--great little detail. I'm not a (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Brick Testament begins the Book of Joshua

What up, Len! (...) That *is* a strange shadow. But there's no photoshoppery going on there. I looked through my whole collection to figure how best to make a "scarlet cord". My best solution was to have the spy holding two hot dogs at such an angle (...) (20 years ago, 16-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: MOC: Parthenon

(...) I like the scale you did it in. If you had doubled it, there would be no need to use the half-stud spacing which looks so snappy. -Erik (20 years ago, 6-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: MOC: Parthenon

(...) Great proportions, Stefan. I'm especially fond of the cutaway peek-a-boo at the inside. Now if only the Brits would return the friezes... -Teddy (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: MOC: Parthenon

(...) Thanks! The model turned out to be more fun to build in this scale than with the 2x2 columns I started with. That larger version would have had more accurate proportions, but not much more detail. (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  MOC: Parthenon

Just in time for the summer Olympics in Athens I finished the real life version of my MLCad-created Lego model of Parthenon, in approximately 1:240 scale.
