Casting Satan and Jesus for The Brick Testament

(...) Please do. (...) Thanks for saying so, Terry. (...) No matter what sort of visage I chose for Satan in The Brick Testament, I knew that it would not please everybody. Choosing a Satan was a lot trickier than choosing, say, Jesus or God, (...) (21 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX) !

  Re: Satan Tempts Jesus

(...) Not too long after putting the new material online, I got an e-mail from somebody asking "why does Satan always eneter from the rear?" I don't know if I have the qualifications to answer a theological question like that. (...) Thanks, Dave. (...) (21 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: Satan Tempts Jesus

(...) Thanks, Bruce. (...) He is sort of blocky, isn't he? I may have to figure out a redesign for the wolf. (...) I'm not sure I can do any better on the duck. @8^) (...) Thanks.   Re: Satan Tempts Jesus

If I may... As most people, I love your creations. Although I've said in the past I don't read your website because I don't like any religion, I have recently taken a great pleasure in keeping up to date with all your updates. I enjoy your creations (...) (21 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: Satan Tempts Jesus

Great stuff as always, Brendan. (...) I like the wolf. For some reason that design looks more blocky when the wolf is standing, but in this reposed position the blockyness is minimized. The duck is cute but a little too rectangular. Nice Satan (...) (21 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Satan Tempts Jesus

The Brick Testament has been updated today with a new illustrated story from the Gospels: Satan Tempts Jesus. (URL) for the "hell" of it, I also decided to add a couple of Satan appearances to the Last Supper story. The two new panels are these: (...)   Re: The Parable of the Unpopular Banquet

Cool, a nice little Friday present. Unpopular banquet: I wish some of these had the background in sharper focus--it's pretty much impossible to see construction details on the settings. Of course, this may be your intent depending on how much detail (...) (21 years ago, 2-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Whoops, one more: Jesus and The Law

OK, this is it for today, I promise. One last extra story: Jesus and The Law. (URL) Smith (21 years ago, 2-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Bonus story: Jesus and the Rich

I've just added a third new story from the Gospels to today's update: Jesus and the Rich. (see links from previous post) Enjoy, -The Rev. Brendan Powell Smith (21 years ago, 2-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Parable of the Many Murders

(...) Thanks, Bruce. This was one of those situations where I felt I just barely had enough of the right pieces to make the scene work -- to give the illusion of a vineyard. I only have one brown baseplate, and just enough brown plates to make it (...) (21 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Parable of the Many Murders

(...) Thanks! (...) Was there a giant rock in Life of Brian? I remember the stoning scene, but don't recall a giant rock. Or did you just mean that it was similar in that there was a stoning scene at all? (...) Certainly, -Brendan (21 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Parable of the Many Murders

(...) Thanks. (...) I wonder how many people there are for whom that has come to be the case. Or, as I continue on, how many people will eventually be in the same boat. (...) Hey, that's not entirely true. I think I've cast Timmy in some (...) (21 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Parable of the Many Murders

Hey Brendan, Good stuff as always. I like the way you made the vineyard--good subtle detail with the smaller leaf elmenets in the first shot, then larger ones at harvest time. Funny with the one guy holding the clothes in 12:4, but should the pants (...) (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Parable of the Many Murders

(...) As good as ever! I especially like that the stoning scene with the giant rock is taken right out of "Life of Brian". Thanks for your contribution to entertainment of the masses! Arne, Copenhagen (21 years ago, 22-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Parable of the Many Murders

(...) Great job as always, Brendan. I think I've now read more of the Bible in its Brick Testament incarnation than in book form. But you know, as soon as I saw that the landowner's son was Timmy, I knew that the slaves weren't going to respect him. (...) (21 years ago, 22-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)
