Hi, Soren.

One should always keep a barf bag on hand when perusing my LEGO creations.

The barbed wire, the motel beds, the little pile of feces, they just look right (or in the case of the last, very, very wrong).

I had an alternate photo where I used brown 1x2 plates. It looked more LEGO, but not quite as disturbing. Of course, I chose the more disturbing path.

This time, though, I have some nitpicks:

(1) The assault rifles. Typically, the clips are closer to the pistol grip, and although I like your method, the clips should curve outwards. Not a big deal, just a little weird.

Yeah, sometimes I wish I was a gun nut so I could get this stuff right. OK, not really. At first I played around with the idea of giving the soldiers composite rifles like those of Kotaro Ono and Keith Goldman. But as much as I love the look of these weapons, I thought they looked too large in the hands of a mini-fig. So I went with the standard rifle with the gray-hand clip that I first saw in Gary Thomas’s 2001 ISCC entry, the Temple of Catur Muka. But yes, as you noticed, I have the clip facing the wrong way and too far from the grip. My apologies to the gun nuts. Don’t shoot.

   (2) The tanks. I’m assuming they’re M1s, so the treads should extend further downwards. And the forward slope of the hull is a little different from your model, as shown here

Yeah, again, I don’t know from tanks, so I had to look up some photos of modern tanks for inspiration. I kept hearing about “Bradley Fighting Machines” in the news, so I was almost going to do one of those, but then I remembered there was some other tank that sounded like “Abram”, and I couldn’t resist the Bible reference, so you are correct that my tank is modeled on the M1 Abrams.

Your criticism here is again quite valid. My main problem was that it turns out I own no LEGO treads whatsoever. So I either had to order them on Bricklink and wait until they arrived, or see what I could do without them. Impatience got the better of me. The forward slope comment is also true. My apologies to the tank nuts. Don’t shoot!

Your turret design is great, though. Cool use of the basketball stand part.

Thanks. NBA parts are good for something.

That’s all, really, and by no means do you have to listen to my grumblings.

Hey, I like criticism. And I expected to get some nitpicks on the military stuff. Now let’s see if anyone picks nits with my LEGO bar. I don’t ever go to bars, so again I had to use some reference photos. I’m sure I got something wrong though. @8^)

Thanks for the comments!
