Well, they haven't supplied me with any bricks quite yet. I had bought the
bricks with my own funds before they'd requested the sculpture. If they
decide they can handle the price, they will pay me for the sculpture, at
which time I'll glue it together and give it to them, and buy more bricks to
replenish my stock. If they can't handle the price, I'll probably tear it
apart and build something else (although I don't really relish the thought
of having to disassemble this monstrosity!) I have to take advantage of the
easily obtainable bricks now, before the 3033 tub is discontinued *hehe*
I love the fact that there are lots of sculptors out there (witness Masayuki
Ogura and his nifty Snoopy sculpture also published today) that are all
doing great work. It's getting harder and harder for us to one-up each
other. I can't wait to see this area blossom more, as it's one of my
favorite building styles (obviously). It's too bad that the more detailed
works take such ridiculous amounts of bricks, though. It's going to be very
costly to keep this kind of work up if the 3033 tubs are discontinued, and
we have to rely on shop@home and the bulk packs for raw material.
