I think it's pretty nifty that the sculpture area is blossoming with several
artists (and at least one club) now working to make large scale sculptures
for profit.

Well, they haven't supplied me with any bricks quite yet.  I had bought the
bricks with my own funds before they'd requested the sculpture.  If they
decide they can handle the price, they will pay me for the sculpture, at
which time I'll glue it together and give it to them, and buy more bricks to
replenish my stock.  If they can't handle the price, I'll probably tear it
apart and build something else (although I don't really relish the thought
of having to disassemble this monstrosity!)  I have to take advantage of the
easily obtainable bricks now, before the 3033 tub is discontinued *hehe*

I think you have a real talent, and it's wonderful that you've built
up this relationship with your local TLC store management.  But I
think you are missing out on a great opportunity for financial gain.
Don't let them take your work for free - TRU has a big budget and I'm
sure they could find some money to compensate you for your time, as
well as for the bricks you use.  There's no reason you shouldn't make
some money from them - they're bound to be making a lot of money off
your work, and it's only fair for you to receive your share of that.

Even if they pay you in bricks instead of cash, it would be a good
idea to try to get some kind of remuneration for all your efforts.
