Yup, those look more interesting than simple 4x4 cones slapped on the back
(which unfortunately, is what I still do =p). I especially like the Space
Tug: good use of those podracer fins (aren't you glad they come in grey
now?!). The 45 degree door in the Space Jalopy is also really creative
(also, I didn't know 1x1 plates/tiles would stay on the door handles? Neat!)

Plates won't actually fit- only tiles seem to have any binding at all.  And
the binding is *very* fragile.  If there wasn't a flat surface below to keep
the tiles square, they would fall off.  I tried round 1x1 plates too,
thinking that I wouldn't have to worry about staying square... alas, they
fall right off.

That steering wheel thing that the thruster vanes clip to has an oversized
stud- the round 1x1 that is snapped onto it has a crack around the base.

You mean the stud in the centre of the steering wheel is oversized enough to
damage any bricks you place on it? Sheesh, thanks for the heads up.

Note that round 1x1 bricks don't give any leeway- if the stud is oversized,
the brick can't deform to fit it.  A square 1x1 might be able to go on there
without damage, as its walls can flex a little.  I didn't bother
experimenting further.
