That is very very cool. Looks like an awful lot of white bricks and plates,
there.. oi.. to have so many.. opps..sorry.. I'll day dream elsewhere.

Do you have pictures of the interior besides the cockpit (which is really
awesome, BTW)? I'd love to see 'em if you do!

I've added some new photos to the Brickshelf Gallery showing the
retractable landing gear, payload bay, and crew decks.

*jaw drops* Crimminy Jickets, man! How many wing plates and plates in
general did you USE on that thing?! I don't even want to think of how heavy
must be!

This set of pictures makes your work even more impressive; I know how hard
black is to photograph and get the detail to come out. Any guesses on the
piece count on so far?

Unfortunately the mid-deck isn't well done at this time (only has three
seats and some storage lockers) It is hard to photograph, with it
sitting deep inside the forward fuselage. I'll eventually add an airlock
and a food galley in the near future.

If it turns out like what you've already done, I can't wait to see more!

The flight deck simply rests on some smooth tile supports above the
mid-deck and is easily removable. There is a smaller ladder and floor
cut out in the deck on the port side allowing crew to move (float?)
between the two decks - like on the real orbiter.

Tiles are the right way to go if you're gonna take the time to do the
interior, for certain. Has to be easy show it off, after all. :)

Also note the three green CRT screens on the flight deck in front of the
commander and pilot seats (I guess my orbiter has a pre-"glass cockpit"
set of orbiter flight controls)

Hehe. I don't think that your minifigs are going to complain. It's a far
sight better than the 'runabout' that they get through commercial means...! :)

So.... when're you gonna start on the External Tank, Solid Rocket Booters
and the scale gantry and crawler pad? ^_^

(...) Yes, it is heavy, but probably not as heavy as you may think. Maybe ten pounds? The wings are generally 4 plates thick at the leading edge and become thicker inboard as the approach the fuselage and landing gear wells. I used 90 wing elements (...)
