   Hello all-

First off, my apologies to the .nl folks for posting this in
English, but I thought they might like to know about it and
my Dutch is sub-par to say the least.  (Maar iemand wilt in
Nederlands lezen, dan ik dit in Nederlands schrijven kan proberen.)

That horrible violence to an innocent language aside, here's
the scoop:  I was riding back from Katwijk-a/d-Rijn by bike, and
hitting Shell stations all along the way (and yes, I found a few
things, but those are in .shopping/.b-s-t).  Well, I stopped at
one that was out of LEGO promo sets, but which had a recent number
of a mag called "Zelf doen Computer Idee" with, wrapped around
its outside cover, a 32-page booklet explaining how to build a
CD-Wisselaarkopieerstation (or CD-R automatic changer) out of LEGO.
It involves a lot of Basic bricks, a few Technic gears and some
supple wheels and treads (without the oil, natuurlijk), and an RCX
brick. I'm sure someone here could streamline it and make it spiffy,
but the important thing is that it apparently works.  You do have to
pull your raw drive out of the machine, and it must be a unit with
a built-in tray, but the tray kicks the mechanism which changes
   the CD.  Nice!

The vitals of the magazine, for .nl folks:
#19, 7/9 - 21/9/2000 (available now), Zelf doen Computer Idee.
It's obvious if you have the right one, the booklet is wrapped
   around the outside cover.

Unfortunately I do not have access to the Internet with any kind
of file transfer (they use Wyse Winterms here at the Uni), but I
will happily post this booklet in the mail (it's A5 size) to any
LUGnetter who promises to scan it in and post the URL to the wider
LUGnet community.  Warning, however:  It's in Nederlands (Dutch).

   best,

   Lindsay.nl

(...) Did this ever happen? I've been searching for a few weeks and have yet to turn up anything. (21 years ago, 14-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)
