    Any tips for building tall towers? —Joe Strout
   I'm working on a module for the Great Ball Contraption, but this involves having a lot of stuff elevated way up off the plate. At the same time, I don't have a ton of bricks -- I'm a newbie to the AFOL world. So, I need to build some supporting (...) (20 years ago, 18-Dec-04, to lugnet.build)

   (...) I've always wondered about building a tower using just 4 2X4 bricks per level arranged in a way that there's a 2X2 opening in the center that would serve as a shaft as you go upward.    (...) ... (...) ... While not exactly what Patrick describes, I've built several towers mostly from 2x4 bricks, with an outer diameter of 8x8 and a 4x4 opening in the center. My application was to support half scale train signs about six or so feet (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.build)
