So, I need to build some supporting towers that are tall and strong, with a
minimum number of bricks.  I will experiment with the obvious ideas of course,

advice to share.

I've always wondered about building a tower using just 4 2X4 bricks per level
arranged in a way that there's a 2X2 opening in the center that would serve as a
shaft as you go upward.  Once the tower reaches its final height, top it off
with a 2X6 brick with a adequately attached cable / wire centered from it's
underside and run that cable down through the 2X2 shaft and through a hole in
the plate and affix it someway to a turnbuckle to post-tension the tower to
further eliminate sway.  It would help if the plate is on a piece of 3/4 inch
board.  There would have to be further space under this plywood to facilitate
the mechanics of this turnbuckle and the abilty to tighten it.

I would try to use the largest bricks possible.  You could connect your towers
together where possible by cross bracing them.  Since I like to build suspension
bridges, I wouldn't rule out guy wires like that used in those tall slender
transmission towers.

Still yet there's mass-tuned dampners in the real world.  Something you can
google.
