Bofers Quad 40 and Tanks updates —Daniel Siskind
I just added a bunch of photos of stuff I have been working on for new kits to my Military gallery. Lindsay's amazing Takao model inspired me to take some pictures of the Quad 40 mount I recently built, so I posted the while I was at it to: (URL) (...)         Re: Bofers Quad 40 and Tanks updates —Mattias Martensson
(...) Good work again Dan!! Very realistic model of the Quad 40 mount. I like the blue sailors and the way you have created the gun barrels. I guess you have put flexible tubes inside. Are the barrels movable in elevation? The railing around the (...) (22 years ago, 15-Feb-03, to lugnet.build)

(...) Yes, the barrels have that magical flex tubing holding them together. I added a few more snapshots to answer your question about the gun elevation to the gallery: (URL) ship is a Cleveland class cruiser from WW2. It will be about 3 meters long (...)    (...) Perhaps I'm being unrealistic, but I've scaled my plans to match the minifig (1 stud = 1 foot or 4 x 8 plate = 4 x 8 feet). The mounting may actually be slightly too big, because my plans were blown up from a really tiny drawing. Your own (...) (22 years ago, 16-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.military)

Bofors Quad 40 —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) To be "minifig scale" the ship would have had to be 22 feet long. That's a little bit big, unless I buy a minivan. ;) (...) That's always the limiting factor. It was for me, too. (...) mass of the mount, I'll be interested to see how it pans (...) (22 years ago, 16-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Bofors Quad 40 —Daniel Siskind
(...) Wow, that's big! Same reason I'm not committing to anything bigger, at least until I buy a house first. (...) Have you tried burying a 4x4 turntable into the works, or even that huge technic turntable? There is also a pretty cool turntable in (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.military)
