this would be really cool at the rear of

construction 45 degrees and get the
cylinder 'exit' to point straight out
the rear of a capital ship...

That is a nifty idea.

and i'd like to add a suggestion

lose the 4x4 plate inside the cylinder.
move it underneath and lower the 2x2 turntable
and the tiles down 1 plate level (imho)

Yeah, I did that merely to add stability without having to redo the floor to
"cut" another hole into it.
