Neat.  All those thinwalls are pretty impressive.  How sturdy is this?  It
looks extremely fragile.

My question as well. I have built a number of large buildings for train
shows that have traveled with varying success. How do you plan to transport
it -- or is it stronger than it looks?

To Jason and Cary:  It's actually pretty sturdy.  The only real potential weak spot
is where I have stacked the thin walls with the 1x2 dark gray plate in between
them.  If you will notice the row of plates onto which the grill tiles are sitting:

Those are 4x6 plates (6x6 on the corners), so I have an inside rim of onto which I
can attach each floor when I get around to it.

I can carry it around with no problems.  The trouble has come in vehicle
transportation.  I have driven with it simply laid on its side in the car and stuff
loosened a bit, so I'll probably transport it vertically from now on.  I have not
even thought about transportation for long journeys to shows-- lots of foam I
guess:-/

Should have set FUT then! :-) Your post is on topic for .org... John's
wasn't. IMHO.

To Larry:  Funny how this ended up back in trains.org.  Not so funny how you have
completely fractured the thread with your obsessive micro management.  Go moderate
your own site.

John

(...) You might have a point, this time, but you got lucky. I'll stand behind my comments, you were way off topic and ought to know better. ++Lar (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)
