Woot, I figured out an even better way.
Check it out:

Take 2 of the 1x2 panels and stuff em on the same side and it holds pretty
tight, works on older bricks as well. :) Although you lose the ability to
spin it like with my last idea.

| (...) Ding, ding, ding... whoa ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner! This method works great. I don't require the ability to spin the bricks. Actually you're a double winner. I'm going to use your technic axle method too. I never thought to (...) (23 years ago, 27-Aug-01, to lugnet.build)
