Re: Classic Space set design and building contest

(...) Minor nit: These two rules conflict. The Classic Space/Castle helmet hasn't been officially released as an LDraw part. Which makes it hard to include classic space mini-figures in an LDraw model. Roy Earls developed some unofficial versions of (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: New 'Quirinius' and 'TigerStark' Mecha

Hi Jason. I like the Quirinus. It's what I would expect a "Classic Space" mecha to look like. ;^) I think the "tiger stark" has a nice torso design, but the arms and legs look a bit too proportionally small. You might think about making them a bit (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Classic Space set design and building contest

Well, I've just put one up on the web. I guess this should go under the walker vehicles category (I haven't counted the pieces, but I think it's under 1000...) (URL) rest of the site's still under construction. Jason. (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Classic Space set design and building contest

(...) The name was pretty obvious... a definite descendant of both the Starfleet Voyager and the Galaxy Explorer. Oh, and I got dibs on the Starfleet Commander name! But if we all try to stay highly classic, including naming conventions, we're (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

  Re: Space Base Ideas?

Hey Mark, Dang. would love to get more "interesting" baseplates. Besides flat road and green ones, I only have two of the old moon plates from my Galaxy Explorer. Sadly, that's ALL that I have from those days. D'oh! Evil-and-Stupid-for-...egos-Wayne (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.aquazone)

  New 'Quirinius' and 'TigerStark' Mecha

Have a look at my new (still under construction) website - two new mechs: (URL) do you think? Jason. (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Modification -where do I begin?

Can anyone tell I am trying to avoid work today? I have made some modifications of minifigs. (URL) used: *An exacto knife to scrape off paint, both LEGO provided paint and my own. Also can be used to cut elements and yourself if you are not careful. (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Modification -where do I begin?

Any links where I can get good inspiration/tips/equipment lists etc? (Of course, you can post any tips and tricks you have right here on Lugnet) Thanks --Tobias (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: Classic Space set design and building contest

Awesome contest! I'll enter. <questions> Can I submit models that I did in the past? Like, a year ago? Or will I have to make new ones? Can I submit modifications of a model *and* the original model as one entry? (Example: With classic wings/with (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Classic Space set design and building contest

DOH! I knew you'd built one, Tony. But I didn't realize I gave mine the same name! I've always liked yours anyway. Sort of a "cargo" version of the ship. I don't mind the front end, since I don't think it necessarily needs all the radar dishes and (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Classic Space set design and building contest

OH! Rats. I just took my Mega Galaxy Explorer apart. It was basically a double sized Galaxy Explorer using Star Wars Wings instead of classic space wings... MAN! It was twice as long and twice as wide! Attention Frank Filz.. did you get a picture of (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Classic Space set design and building contest

Hi, This is a great idea! Really gets juices going. Here's something I did a few months ago. It was going to be for April Fools, but I can't wait any longer. I suppose I'll have to enter this link twice, since there's two sets included. It's a (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

  Rules Question (Classic Space contest)

(...) Quick rules question- are existing models eligible if they've been posted somewhere already? Or is this only for new models? I ask because I have a number of creations that could be eligible and yet very limited time to actually build new ones (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Classic Space set design and building contest

(...) Nice model- very consistent with period designs. I'd say it gets bonus points for being an alternate of two existing sets, though the wing shape is much more like space sets from a few years later. -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

  Brain Powered

(...) John, Brain Powered Mecha...very clean lines! Not really the direction I'm headed right now but cool none the less. I'm headed into the "tons o' crap way over the top" style, but I really like the arm of the Brain Powered model.   Re: Classic Space set design and building contest

(...) You also used the newer 3x3 wing bits. I don't know exactly when they came out, but they certainly were much later than 1979. Not to pick your design apart, of course. I have done some variants of those ships as well, and I don't recall any (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Classic Space set design and building contest

(...) Yeah, here's another: (URL) not sure if this is eligible, as I made it a couple of months ago.
