  Re: Self-modified bricks - pure?

(...) holding (...) I will be very interested in seeing your servo mods. I have been pondering this subject for awhile now. My biggest problem is how to attach a brick to the moving part of the servo. -Chuck (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.build)

  RE: Self-modified bricks - pure?

(...) That's funny Steve. Now I'll split hairs even further...are you saying that by stepping on elements, that you have modified them "by accident" or that you have induced modifications to your own feet. There was a really funny thread a few years (...) (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Self-modified bricks - pure?

(...) Ralph, Don't try to rationalize your behavior. Just because an element doesn't fit your standard of 'normal', doesn't make it 'odd'. Even if it is 'odd', that's no excuse to mutilate it. Euphonismizing your actions as 'doctoring' just makes it (...) (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Aquazone Contest interest?

(...) These things will come to light when the official rules go up and the contest is announced. But, this is just an underwater themed contest. There may be an Aquazone or Stingray category, but anything is cool. (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.space)

Re: New model (some input please)

Hi Jay, I don't build Mecha, but I do enjoy looking at other people's creations along these lines. I think you did a stunningly good job... It looks very much like what you were modeling. Beautiful. Well, as beautiful as a machine of mass (...) (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Anybody build the NEW Spyrunner?

I just got my latest S@H shipment Friday...I unpacked it today and found the new Promo Spyrunner plane. I forgot that this was being "thrown in" with orders over $75... I haven't opened it ... I was too busy w/ FNFs and the SW/Ninja heroes. Is there (...) (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Re: New model (some input please)

Very cool. To me, mecha seem to have a tendency to be too slick and pretty. Yours looks like a realistic piece of killing machinery. BTW, where and when is this show on? I am a huge Heinlein fan and I can't believe I didn't know about this show. (...) (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha)

  RE: Self-modified bricks - pure?

(...) <insert tongue in cheek> Amy, this is a delicate ethical matter that has come up before. If necessary, I would suggest a meeting with other local AFOLs or a trusted member of your own community, such as a clergy person. As in all such cases, (...) (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.build)

  Self-modified bricks - pure?

Would the purists consider user-modified bricks pure? S'pose I file off the corner of some bricks so they fit together at 45 deg. Is that cheating? (24 years ago, 1-Oct-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Is LEGO Mechcommander cool?

(...) Warcraft II? Well, actually it's music from Wing Commander III! Hey folks, it doesn't hurt at all to listen to something else than techno. Really! And it's only a small price to pay for getting a couple of new mechs every month, isn't it? ;) (...) (24 years ago, 1-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
