  Re: non-Lego elements

(...) <snip> (...) We run robotics challenges from time to time, and the autonomous robots we use must be built from 100% Lego in order to be official entries. This excludes boxes and other packaging materials, and we insist on using real Lego (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

4 New Mecha @ Moonbase Io

After recently aquiring several 2x1 two-hole and 1x1 beam bricks from LEGO S@H, as well as several 1x4 grill mounting plates and 3' friction pins, I've developed a new technique for adding badly needed "studded bulk" to the throwbot limbs in my (...)   Re: non-Lego elements

(...) When the GMLTC does train shows, the standard question is "Is it all Lego?" We always tell people that we've used a few non-Lego decals, and the string on a couple of our truss bridges - although we chose string that looks as close to Lego (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: non-Lego elements

(...) I'd have to agree with John on this one. I would say that anything sold under the LEGO trademark, which can somehow be connected to a 2x4 LEGO brick, including doing so by any sequence of parts is certainly a LEGO building element, and thus (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: MB mecha

for some good comments on the megablocks, see richard marchetti's original post reviewing some of the sets (this is originally from the off-topic.clone-brands newsgroup) (URL) g (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  MB mecha

I'm delurknig to throw a thought out. I also don't cruise in enough to know if this was already discussed, but at my local Target I saw that MB now has 4 mecha models. They're actually quite nice. We've been tooling around with this kind of thing (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Oh no, not another Spider Mech...

(...) Another mech that I just don't like. Now I need to think about re-working my scorpian. You've certainly raised the bar. BTW, now that I've provided a tutorial, I expect you to cost this out. Later, Gino A... (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: non-Lego elements (rumors on Knex)

I would say that if they want to end KNEX, all they have to do is bring out KNEX Jr. and let the market kill it for them. Mike Reinhard "Ben" Beneke <r.beneke@tu-bs.de> wrote in message news:FzswEo.8Co@lugnet.com... (...) that (...) us (...) SNAP (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: non-Lego elements (rumors on Knex)

(...) I have heared by rumors, that Lego in fact HAS bought Knex! The story I heared is the following: Lego lost market volume by Knex, so they decided to bring out a comparable line, which was the cheap SNAP crap... (My personal opinion on SNAP is, (...)   Re: Micro-Fig Fuchikoma

Ummm... It's just from one of the best and most popular manga, _Ghost in the Shell_. I even posted and xcompare.jpg on brickshelf so people could compare it without reading the manga... Thanks anyway! (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Micro-Fig Fuchikoma

Thanks Jon! After I saw your Fuchikoma, I said hey, why don't I build a micro-fig one. A shrine? Sure. Mini-fig Fuchikoma? Already thinging about it! Can't wait to see your's! (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: non-Lego elements

(...) It's made by LEGO, it's designed to work with 'normal' LEGO bricks. I see absolutely no problem with using Znap and considering it 'pure LEGO'... When I first saw Technic sets I didn't like them, because I didn't think they were 'real LEGO'. (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Re: Oh no, not another Spider Mech...

(...) Well, since somebody mentioned that the Kobold looked "organic", I figured it's only fair. Besides, I like the organic look more than the block style that many mecha sport. As for the 8 legged design, I already have created 2 four-legged (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
