We run robotics challenges from time to time, and the autonomous robots
we use must be built from 100% Lego in order to be official entries.
This excludes boxes and other packaging materials, and we insist on
using real Lego string, or else string that a judge can't tell from the
real thing on inspection. We aren't terribly picky, so non-Lego labels
haven't disqualified anyone yet. Of course, this has left open the
possibility of using a dozen or so AC power adapters as a mallet, and so
forth...
If people are being extremely picky about Lego purity, I tell them to do
what feels right to them - but shouldn't they remove the Duracell
batteries from their robots?
Grin.
