(...) Edward, I based the skirt on a statue of (URL) King Leonidas of Sparta>, which of course I doubt is historically correct as it was made after his time so the artist I am sure added some of the style or fashion of his time.   Re: This is SPARTA!!! Figure from the "300"

Very nicely done, Kaminoan. The toes are absolutely adorable! Makes me yearn for sandal weather. But don't you think the skirt is a bit, um, revealing? Reminiscent of the progressively shorter skirts in the Roman part of Blackadder Back & Forth. (18 years ago, 7-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

  Re: MOC: Kedleston Hall

Wow, Alistair, this is a beautiful recreation. I am particularly impressed with the interior detail. The tiled floor pattern is very nicely done is the room with the stately dark red columns. And the maersk blue room's fireplace and door lintel look (...) (18 years ago, 7-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.arch)

This is SPARTA!!! Figure from the "300"

Well the title pretty much says it all. I created decals to make the Spartans from the new film the "300." I utilized RedBean's Spear, Helmet, and Shield to really pull this figure together, decaling the lambda on the shield. (URL) Image is (URL) (...)   Fluid Schleim

(...) Hi Al, This is really great. I just love thhe interiors, the snot work on the lower sections of the exterior and the use of the goblets in the railing. Very nice details all around. Best, Jonathan (18 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: MOC: Kedleston Hall

(...) This looks really good. It looks like it, or a similar house was used in the most recent Pride and Prejudice film, with which my fiancee is obsessed. I'm debating whether or not to show her, as I may end up getting roped into building a (...) (18 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.build.arch)

  MOC: Terraced houses

  MOC: Scots Baronial house

I built this a few years ago, but I don't think I ever announced it at the time. It's a Scots Baronial mansion house, based on the buildings of 19th century Edinburgh architect David Bryce. It's not modelled on any single house - he'd never have had (...) (18 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town, lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.build.arch) !

  MOC: Kedleston Hall

Kedleston Hall is a classical 18th century mansion in Derbyshire, UK. I've modelled it in LEGO, and you can see the results here: (URL) front is largely accurate, excepting the lack of sculpture and the fact that I've compressed the staircase so (...)
