  Re: Godzilla!

I think this was a great build. I like the green. but the legs could have been custom made. You should have made one using only your own ideas. Overall , 8 out of 10. (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Northwest Artifact wins Best of Show at NWBrickCon 2006

Here are a few pics of my Northwest Artifact (Totem Pole). It is 6 feet tall, has a 7-1/2 foot wingspan and uses about 20,000 bricks and plates. The technology I developed to enable such massive (and thin) wings is called Plywood and Staples. The (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX) !!

Re: first multi-colored sculpture - rhapsody in blue

Impressive! I have never even attempted a sculpture (I feel like an dinosaur on Lugnet now ; ) but this still looks very tricky... I love the sharpness of the line itself, and the figs at the base really make it. Thanks for sharing and God Bless, (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: first multi-colored sculpture - rhapsody in blue

(...) I'd like to point out that the space men climbing up at the bottom were my contribution to David's Sculpture. It was really quite impressive. Well Done. steve (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: first multi-colored sculpture - rhapsody in blue

(...) David, I want to see pictures of the fig leaf that you built to cover it. ;-) Seriously, how did you transport it? Did you split it into sections or did you move it whole? Also, how thick are the walls? Having never built anything to that (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: first multi-colored sculpture - rhapsody in blue

(...) If this wasn't Lego it would be boring, but somewhow the knowledge of how it is constructed gives it that something extra . I think if you had worked out some sort of studless super SNOT construction it just wouldn't work. As a matter of (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: first multi-colored sculpture - rhapsody in blue

Hello! That's cool. That looks like a large Schultüte. (What's a Schultüte? Look it up here: (URL) at LEO.org>) And it's another tower that's taller than mine. Sighs. The naked mini... erm... bigfigs = sculptures are great, too. Bye Jojo (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

first multi-colored sculpture - rhapsody in blue

At (URL) NWBrickCon2006> I showed my first ever multi-colored sculpture. It was a part of the moonbase display. It was an 8 foot tall cone with a bulging red stripe spiraling up the side. But the red stripe is structural. It’s not just tacked on the (...)   Re: 18th Century Howitzer

(...) Thanks. I'm glad you like it. I posted a couple of pictures of this over on Eurobricks that show a bit better how the barrel and carriage go together. They are in this thread: (URL) (...)   Re: 18th Century Howitzer

(...) Sort of. Howitzers were developed to fire at high angles, but were generally transported with the cannon horizontal. Nowadays, the word "howitzer" seems to be used for just about any cannon-like artillery. ROSCO (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: 18th Century Howitzer

(...) This is the best home-brewed cannon I've seen so far. It's quite perfect and still simple, very much to my taste. I would love you to do a diorama around this. I do have a question however, isn't a howitzer some form of mortar? In the game Age (...) (18 years ago, 11-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Mech Bay 12

  Re: Mech Bay 12

(...) My agreements. The composition and treatment is well done! The film grain effect looks great too - would be interesting to see some subtle clouds or smoke in the background. Or, the subtle silhouettes of some war machines. But of course, this (...) (18 years ago, 8-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)
