  Re: Tiki Lounge

(...) Excellent MOC! Xposted to .vignette. For what it's worth, I'd say it could qualify for a vignette. Maybe we can call this a "Shoebox" vignette, as it is large and reminds me of those diorama(rama)s that we used to build while in grade school! (...) (19 years ago, 4-Sep-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Tiki Lounge

(...) Thanks! I had a lot of fun making it. DIORAMA! Thats the one... And if we have a contest for the best diorama, we can call it diorama-rama (from the simpsons). Bill (19 years ago, 4-Sep-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Tiki Lounge

(...) Bill, that is great! Lots of nice details, and the tiki works really well. I would forget about trying to squeeze it into any kind of vignette - I would rather call it a diorama. ROSCO (19 years ago, 3-Sep-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Who is responsible for this?

(URL) Just found it in one of the BF galleries (note that it was placed by Tim David in his folder after resize for the .trains sidebar much later) So.... who came up with this wonderful (not to mention hilarious) idea anyway? Legoswami (19 years ago, 3-Sep-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !

  Tiki Lounge

Aloha! Here is my latest creation, the Tiki Bar! (URL) It started out as a vignette, but it quickly grew out of hand! I was going to post this to vignette, as well, but didn't want to get anybody mad... I figured it can't be called a scuplture, and (...) (19 years ago, 3-Sep-05, to lugnet.build, FTX) !!

  My 2nd Castle Vignette...

I can't believe no one has done this scene as a vignette yet. Its the the prime archtype of Castle: (3 URLs) The whole castle gallery: (URL) Steve (19 years ago, 3-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.castle)

Re: "Name That Vig" noprize Contest - Surfin' USA

(...) Ooh, cool! When I first thought of Pulp Fiction, I figured Misirlou, as it's the song your really think of from that, but didn't know what it meant. So I went with the one that had "girl" in the soundtrack. I have to admit that I had no idea (...) (19 years ago, 3-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: "Name That Vig" noprize Contest - Surfin' USA

(...) What is this, a joint effort? ;) Between the two of you, I think you've solved 7 or 8 or them... but I'm not saying anything until I have your final answers. Keep trying! :) "Big Daddy" Nelson (19 years ago, 3-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: "Name That Vig" noprize Contest - Surfin' USA

(...) You were close, saying pulp fiction (which I didn't even think of) would suggest it is Misirlou, which means Egyption girl. (...) (19 years ago, 2-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: On creating life-sized sculpture

(...) I know it would be difficult, but I really wish TLC would make available for sale the plans to some of the park and Miniland sculptures, especially the smaller sail/powerboats and the Combine Harvester... Paul Sinasohn (19 years ago, 2-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: On creating life-sized sculpture

(...) The Lego software does in fact only give the outline on a lego grid rather than where each brick goes. It works pretty good most of the time.   Re: On creating life-sized sculpture

It depends on what the sculpture is going to be used for. If it will be on display where random people will touch it you'll probably want to have a metal skeleton within. For the 5'6" (URL) angel sculpture> I got away with it being exactly 2 bricks (...) (19 years ago, 2-Sep-05, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)
